What is mental health and wellbeing?

“Mental health is not just the absence of mental disorder. It is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.” (World Health Organisation, 2015).

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a process of exploring and understanding thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and patterns. It is a form of “talking therapy”, Talking to a counsellor will help people to explore those difficult feelings and emotions that they are perhaps unable to discuss with family and friends. It helps people to make sense of their life experiences and find ways to change or solve problems.

Our counselling service.

Veterans in Crisis specialise in a wide range of needs, including anxiety, depression, abuse, PTSD and more. We provide a safe and confidential space where our counsellor will explore difficulties without judgement or pressure.

Veterans in Crisis have a dedicated counselling service available to Veterans and Veterans family members.

All our counsellors are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP and adhere to their recommended framework and guidelines.

Confidentiality is of the highest priority and GDPR guidelines are adhered to at all times.

Our counsellors at Veterans in Crisis use an Integrative approach, research shows that using an integrative approach has positive results as it consists of the counsellor using multiple approaches and it is built around each individual and their needs. An integrative approach to counselling draws upon more than one modality, blending relevant theory and interventions to suit the needs of the client.
